AutoCAD Civil(Classroom Training)

AutoCAD Civil

Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, and buildings. Civil engineering is arguably the oldest engineering discipline. It deals with the built environment and can be dated to the first time someone placed a roof over his or her head or laid a tree trunk across a river to make it easier to get across. Civil engineers focus on structures and facilities such as transportation routes, features (tunnels, bridges, flyovers), and hubs (such as airports and bus interchanges), water treatment (sewage, dams, pipelines, etc.) government buildings (police and fire stations, major office buildings, etc.), and other structures required on a large public scale.

AutoCAD is a tool that helps draftsmen and engineers to do their job in a faster and more productive manner. It basically brings automation to manual hand drafting. AutoCAD plays an important role for automated design drawings in civil engineering. It is used to create the design visualizations. Several different CAD tools helps to evaluate potential clashes, to coordinate several different systems on site, and to evaluate the constructability of the designs. We can define the alignment and the profile, superelevation, creating corridors from that information, evaluating cut and fill, developing grading, and use that as the basis to define the geometry of different structures.

3D tools in AutoCAD develop additional structural content and eventually brings that content to create complex models and animations for public outreach.

Career Scope:

CAD plays an important role for automated design drawings in civil engineering. It's a job that pays a reasonably high income due to the level of skills and expertise required, and the ongoing responsibilities to ensure safe, accurate, and enduring engineering outcomes. Civil engineers can work in a variety of work environments, including in the public sector, as contractors, consultants, or even as part of a firm that undertakes work outsourced from municipalities and government. Civil engineers also work with architect firms and construction firms. Throughout the lifetime of a civil engineer career, you might vary your employment circumstances considerably to work around different needs and interests; the good thing is that your qualifications will allow you much flexibility.

Civil engineers do a lot more than design buildings and bridges. They can be found in the aerospace industry, designing jetliners and space stations; in the automotive industry, perfecting the load-carrying capacity of a chassis and improving the crashworthiness of bumpers and doors; and they can be found in the ship building industry, the power industry, and many other industries wherever constructed facilities are involved. And they plan and oversee the construction of these facilities as construction managers.

Civil engineering is an exciting profession because at the end of the day you can see the results of your work, whether this is a completed bridge, a high-rise building, a subway station, or a hydroelectric dam. Civil CAD Engineers can specialize in an area such as residential architecture (homes), commercial architecture (office buildings, apartments), or structural drafting (steel buildings, concrete structures).

CAD is used to prepare drawings and topographical and relief maps for construction or civil engineering projects, such as highways, bridges, pipelines, flood control projects, and water and sewage systems. Civil CAD engineers may also work for Surveying companies creating site plans and layouts for new subdivisions.
